In recent years, Po’oino is interested in ceramics through which he approaches the origins of Polynesian tattoo. The Lapita pottery is the oldest evidence of the presence of the Polynesian people and their art in the Pacific.
Many consider the grounds on these ceramics are the source of TATAU we know today. Po’oino, does not reproduce the Lapita pottery; however, the use of clay as a carrier for cultural patterns joined Lapita concept. Forms and glazes he uses are drawn by him and cooking methods vary from electricity to wood.
